“Rebuild Me” by Love’s Rhyme

Change me to a substance that is colorless, odorless, malleable, bendable,

Moldable so that we can start this process that is currently a necessity

Before becoming he who I have always dreamed to be I need to grow

Make me a seed of potential

Planting my being in the ground of a solid foundation of prosperity

Where water becomes my rain, my food, my clarity

And when the liquid refreshment of life settles

The sun’s rays radiate my pores, my skin burned with the new promises of life unknown

I must undergo a metamorphous, a drastic change is in order

Break my bones and replace them with the adamantium of your spirit

Erase the worries, the doubts, the people telling me I am worthless and

Fill my mind to the brim with the reminders that without listening to your words

And the people who have helped me I would be that person in the landlocked country of nowhere

But I have made it past such obstacles before and you promised not to let anything hinder me

As long as I do not hinder myself

So take my book back off the shelf and use that fine felt pen

To write a new chapter in my name, I’m not asking for glory or fame

But for success, dress me in the clothes of a man

Who has put it together who has made the dream a reality

Bringing the people around him along with him out of tragedy

I want you to just take my shapeless mass of clay and apply the pressure

Of diligence, obedience, and endurance

Bake me in the oven of virtue and humility

And then when you feel the time is right,

Pull my freshly baked spirit out hardened only to the negativity of the world

And paint me with the colors of truth, purity, and respect

I am coming to you for you are the one who can elect,

Detect, and perfect a true servant to the cause of justice

And its not just us that are willing to put the whole into the cause

But I can no longer take these long reflection periods to pause

Without having a much stronger sense of self

To take the hammer, the beatings, the lynchings, my soul endures

I need to undergo a team building

A retreat where the members me, myself, and I

Attack the other and bring all the animosity to the table

To eliminate the fables, the he said, she said, the assumptions,

The fatal interruptions of life

To erase the strife that should have long since lost its mark on the board of my thoughts

I want to strengthen my house from the foundation up,

The boards, the slab, no crawl space for I have no time for holes in my grand plan

Of life

And no one around me needs to fall between the cracks of mistakes

I have been there before and its truly a place I hate

To make this long question short for the longer I speak the

More time I lose to take to reach my destined peak

I ask you to mold, to shape, to strengthened, to bake, to rebuild me

knowing the steps I wish to take

for I am aiming for a higher place

Change me to a substance that is colorless, odorless, shapeless, malleable, bendable,

Moldable so that we can start this process that is currently a necessity

Before becoming he who I have always dreamed to be I need to grow

I am a seed of potential.
