The With a Capital M Fam: Meet Reko and Tully!

Have you ever wondered who was behind the success of With a Capital M Publishing Group? Well, wonder no more. I’d like to introduce you to two of my favorite people, Tully Murray and Reko Daye!

Since starting With a Capital M, both Reko and Tully have been instrumental. From Tully’s unique web and graphic design to Reko teaching clients how to “keep it smooth” in front of the camera. I can’t thank them enough for the conversations and laughs over the years.

What is even more amazing, we all attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Never discount your circle. You don’t know who can help bring your vision to life.

For this last day of Black History Month, I wanted to highlight them and their respective businesses. In a virtual interview, I asked them three intentional questions: 1) Why is being a business owner important to you? 2) In your field, who inspires/motivates you the most? 3) How can others support the continued growth of your business?

Why is being a business owner important to you?

Being a business owner is essential because it allows me to show my family and other loved ones that we can create something of our own to provide for ourselves and each other. Being the first to do many things within my family allows our current and future generations to see what is possible firsthand. Having that feeling of ownership, knowing that you have built something from scratch around pieces of yourself that you love and enjoy doing, is a fantastic feeling!

In your field, who inspires/motivates you the most?

Honestly, all of the local creatives in NC inspire me to be authentic and continue producing fun, high-quality work! From my wedding partner Najah Cobb at 3RD iPhotography to the incredible group of three brothers at Loyd Visuals in Charlotte building an empire. It’s great to see those around me doing what they love while creating a legacy for their future families!

How can others support the continued growth of your business?

Growth today is about being visible and connecting with those you are working to support/those in your industry. With that, please continue to follow our social media pages, share our work, and provide your feedback on what we have done thus far and what you would love to see more of in the future. We should all continue to support each other on our journeys towards building a better tomorrow for ourselves, our future families, and the world!

Why is being a business owner important to you?

Being a business owner gives me the freedom to create without restrictions. I think it’s important to bet on yourself and create your own definition of success.

In your field, who inspires/motivates you the most?

Jomal Valies. He is the founding Executive Director of STRIVE Atlanta. He has supported my business and taught me a lot about running a digital agency.

How can others support the continued growth of your business?

Spread the word. If you know someone that has a non-profit or a cause, let them know about The Good Pixel. My mission is to help nonprofits.

Be on the look out for projects coming in 2022! I can’t wait to share what we have been working on.
